After two sold-out performances in 2024, renowned American violinist Elizabeth Pitcairn returns to Glencairn Museum for a highly anticipated recital. She will be joined by acclaimed pianist Derek Wieland, violist William Hakim, and cellist Kenneth Kuo for an afternoon of exceptional music.

About the Artists:
Elizabeth Pitcairn, violin
Elizabeth Pitcairn performs on the legendary 1720 “Red Mendelssohn” Stradivarius, said to have inspired The Red Violinfilm. She has appeared as a soloist with the Philadelphia Orchestra and at Carnegie Hall, Walt Disney Concert Hall, the Kimmel Center, and more. She is president and artistic director of the Luzerne Music Center Festival and is on the faculty of the Colburn School.
Derek Wieland, piano
A Juilliard graduate, Derek Wieland has performed with the Cleveland Orchestra and at Alice Tully Hall. He is also the musical director of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, blending classical training with a passion for multimedia production.
William Hakim, viola
Praised for his “warmth of tone and musicality” (Leipziger Volkszeitung), William Hakim has performed internationally and with ensembles such as SONYC and the Metropolis Ensemble. He is on the faculty at Seton Hall University and the College of Saint Rose, and is currently completing doctoral studies in music cognition at CUNY.
Kenneth Kuo, cello
Kenneth Kuo, a Juilliard and Yale graduate, has performed at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and major venues across Europe, Asia, and the Americas. Noted for his “effortless technique” and “romantic soul” (Strings), he is also an acclaimed crossover artist with over 500,000 album sales. Kuo is founder of The Connecticut School of Music and performs on rare 17th- and 18th-century Venetian cellos.
