Four sets of curtains were hung over the Tabernacle itself. Like the
metalwork, the four sets of curtains decrease in value as they grow more
exterior. The innermost curtains, which were placed directly over the
boards of wood, were made of the same four-colored fabric that separated
the rooms of the Tabernacle. These four threads, like those on the inner
veil of the sanctuary, were woven into elaborate designs of cherubim.
The second set of curtains was made of goat's hair, the third of ram's
skins, and the fourth of an unknown material. Holy of Holies |
