Museum members are invited to join us for a rare opportunity to view a 16th century tapestry from the Museum’s collection that was designed by the renowned Italian artist, Raphael. Learn about one of Glencairn’s hidden treasures and view some of the other tapestries in the collection with Dr. Jonathan Kline, expert on Renaissance art. Enjoy a wine reception with catered hors d’oeuvres. Members, watch the mail for your invitation!

The late Glenn Dodson (Principal trombonist: Philadelphia Orchestra, 1968-1995) began the process of commissioning a "love song" for the victims of 9/11 that will be premiered in this performance by the composer, guitarist Allen Krantz, pianist Laura Ward and principal trombonist of the N.Y. Philharmonic and Grammy winner, Joseph Alessi.
Concert tickets are not sold in advance but may be purchased at the door 30 minutes prior to an event.

Noted stained glass artist J. Kenneth Leap from the Stained Glass Center at WheatonArts (Millville, NJ) will lead a stained glass workshop, using authentic 12th century techniques. Participants will apply glass pigment to designs adapted from Glencairn’s collection of medieval stained glass. Painted glass panels will be fired in an ultra-fast gas kiln, so you can take your creation home at the end of the day.

Glencairn’s mission is to present the history of religion using art and artifacts from a variety of cultures and time periods. Join us on April 25th to celebrate multiple religions through a variety of art forms. The Venerable Losang Samten will be dismantling a Sand Mandala (see listing for Tibetan Buddhist Sand Mandala), Jason Klein and J. Kenneth Leap, stained glass artists, will be blowing and painting medieval-style stained glass, stone carvers will demonstrate the finer points of their trade, and mosaic panels will be created. View our current temporary exhibit, In the Service of God: The Sacred Arts in the Middle Ages, and an exhibit about the history of stained glass-making in Bryn Athyn. Participate in family activities and relax at the Castle Café (provided by House of Coffee, Peddler’s Village, Lahaska, PA).
