Hours and Tours

Glencairn Museum is open for guided Highlights Tours on Saturdays.  The Museum's 1st floor, including the Great Hall, Upper Hall, and Bird Room, is open Saturdays FREE of charge from 1:00 - 4:30 pm. A FREE cell phone audio tour of Glencairn's exterior and 1st floor is also available. Please join us every Saturday for FREE Coffee in the Castle from House of Coffee, Lahaska, PA. Glencairn is now a National Historic Landmark.

The Saturday Highlights Tour leaves at 1:00, 1:30, 2:30 and 3:00, with a maximum of ten people per tour. The tour lasts one hour and fifteen minutes. Reservations are strongly suggested. To make a reservation for a Saturday tour call 267-502-2993. Drop in visitors will be accommodated whenever possible. On Saturdays the information desk can be reached from 12:30 until 4:30 at 267-502-2990.

The Saturday Highlights Tour includes a ride in the original elevator to the Tower, with its commanding view of the local area and the Philadelphia skyline (be sure to bring your camera!). The guide will describe Glencairn in the context of the history of the Bryn Athyn community, and explain the fascinating relationship between Glencairn and its neighbors, Cairnwood and Bryn Athyn Cathedral. The tour also includes a visit to the Pitcairn family's Chapel and the Master Bedroom. An introduction to the Museum's collection of religious art takes place in a variety of galleries. The tour also includes a visit to Glencairn's stunning Great Hall and Upper Hall.

Admission for tours: Adults: $8.00; Seniors (65+) $6.00; Students (College + age with ID) $4.00; children 4 years and under free. Other prices apply for special events. It is also possible to visit the Museum, by appointment only, from Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (except public holidays). Group tours of more than 10 people must be done during the week unless the group reserves several of the Saturday times listed above. To make an appointment for a tour call 267-502-2993.
